About Me

Hello everyone and welcome to Count Backwards from 10, Anesthesia Lessons that Don’t put you to Sleep. I’m David Convissar, a board-certified cardiothoracic anesthesiologist and ICU doctor practicing out of Boston Massachusetts, and my goal is to help you learn anesthesia and critical care in the simplest most effective way possible through the use of infographics and videos!

I completed my undergraduate degree in Microbiology and a minor in Chemistry in 2012 at the University of Pittsburgh. From there, I went on to Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School where I would stay for both medical school and residency, completing my anesthesia training in 2020. Finally, I made my way to Boston to complete a dual fellowship in Critical Care Medicine and Cardiothoracic Anesthesia at the Massachusetts General Hospital.

I am board certified in Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine and am awaiting the results of my

Advanced Perioperative Echocardiography Boards. My clinical interests lie primarily in mechanical circulatory support, echocardiography, medical education, and simulation.

I’mhere to take you along with me on my academic journey as I learn more and more about my clinical interests in medicine and hopefully share with all of you the knowledge I gain along the way!
